Jane Tollett – Director

 

Jane started work at GCWIN in April 2008 and was promoted to Director in March 2009.  Her focus with GCWIN is on developing the best water quality monitoring and database programs possible, as well as getting more watershed science into Grand County classrooms.  She sees GCWIN moving into the future by supporting the development of new watershed information projects to improve protection of our Fraser, Three Lakes, and Colorado watersheds.  Jane retired from Procter & Gamble in 2003 as the manager in charge of the Health, Safety and Environmental programs for the Tissue/Towel Division.  Significant accomplishments included reformulating paper additives to make them more environmentally friendly, and reducing moving-equipment injuries on paper machines.  She has worked in North America, Mexico, Europe and Asia.  She has Bachelor of Science degrees from Michigan State in both Biochemistry and Chemical Engineering, and a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.  She lives in Tabernash with her husband Robin and daughter Aimee.  Outside of work she tutors math, skis, and tries to run fast enough to make good calls as a soccer referee.

Sarah Hershfelt - Field Technician

Sarah started working for GCWIN in April 2011 part time as a field technician for lake clarity, stream temperature and algae toxin monitoring as well as the West Slope temperature and specific conductivity program. She is majoring in Land Use at Metropolitan State College in Denver and graduates in May 2011 as a Bachelor of Arts and Science. She is excited to use her knowledge, experience and outdoor skills with water resource management. Sarah also works part time as an interpretive ranger and park guide in Rocky Mountain National Park. She has been a previous USGS water quality volunteer for GCWIN, monitoring lake clarity, and has been a volunteer for Grand County Youth Adventures. Sarah is certified in first aid/CPR, swift water rescue Level 1 and outdoor emergency care. Sarah is also a traveller, having visited Italy, Greece and the Mediterranean Sea region as well as spending 4 months camping in Alaska.

Gill Classen - Administrative Assistant

 

 

Gill started with GCWIN in April 2011 as a part time administrative assistant, assisting the director in bookkeeping and upkeep of the grants database as well as any clerical operations needed to support the smooth running of GCWIN. She did SECCHI monitoring for GCWIN in the summer of 2010, enjoying the chance to get out from behind a desk for a few hours a week.Gill started her business GC Administrative Services in 2008 and provides bookkeeping and clerical services on site to a number of non-profits and small businesses in Grand County. She also serves clients in Colorado and overseas as a virtual assistant working from home. Gill grew up in England and travelled in Europe and Australia before moving to Colorado in 1993. She lives in Granby with her 2 teenage children.

Celine Graas - Education Program Manager

Celine Graas

Celine started work at GCWIN in July 2012 as the 3rd year Office of Surface Mining/Volunteer in Service to America through the Americorps foundation. She graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Policy.  She is very motivated to help facilitate water education and outreach in Grand County. A world traveler and French citizen, in addition to traveling throughout Europe she spent all of 2011 studying in Australia. She is also a horse enthusiast, through her history in 4-h and the Champlain Dressage Schooling Series.
