2023: A Year in Review
2023 was a big year for GCWIN! We had the largest paid staff since our beginning in 2004, were brought on to an additional data collection project from Denver Water, and reinstated Watershed Week field trips for Grand County middle schoolers. Keep reading to learn more about last year's accomplishments!
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, GCWIN's watershed week had been halted since 2020. This past fall, both West Grand and East Grand middle schools were able to work with us to reinstate exciting and fun-filled days for all 6-8th graders.
Voluntary Pilot Program
In addition to multiple sites throughout the Fraser River basin, Denver Water brought GCWIN on to their 2023 Voluntary Pilot Program to collect additional stream temperature data on Ranch Creek. The program brought our total number of stream temperature sites up to 55 this year.
